God is a Trinity of one God in three Persons: The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. They are equal in divinity, perfection, greatness, power, and glory. Jesus Christ was crucified for us, rose from the dead after three days, and is the only Savior of the world.
Salvation cannot be acquired except through faith in the Blood of Jesus Christ.
Living faith can only be demonstrated by good works. The Holy Spirit works in the Church through the seven sacraments.
The core beliefs of the Orthodox Church date back to the inception of Christianity by Christ Himself. These beliefs are best summarized by the Nicene Creed.
Our Church has endured persecution for many centuries. Through the thousands of martyrs offered to God, our Faith remains unshaken and grows even stronger. Even in modern times, persecution is met with fearless resolve and a desire to carry the Cross. Oriental Orthodoxy is the faith of the Christian Churches that only recognize the first three ecumenical councils – the First Council of Nicaea, the First Council of Constantinople, and the First Council of Ephesus. The Oriental Orthodox Churches split from the rest of the Church at the council of Chalcedon, which is why the Oriental Orthodox Churches are also known as the Non-Chalcedonian Churches.
